A few important terms

  • Precision shows how close one measured result is close to another measured result in the same experiment
  • Accuracy measures how close to reality the gathered results are.
  • Systematic Errors are a result of the use of a faulty piece of equipment (broken or uncalibrated).
  • Random Errors occur when judgements must be made by the observer (as in a ball falling from a certain point to the ground and you have to time the fall).
